Getting the ultimate ATARI 130XE
I still cannot get enough computers, and after all I want to have the entire 8-bit ATARI range nicely represented in my collection. So I waste no time and keep an eye on various auction sites whenever I get the chance. That is how I could hardly miss an advert on Bazoš for an ATARI 130XE — the unattainable dream of so many people and the best-equipped 8-bit ATARI.
The photos showed everything in the original boxes and in very well-preserved condition. I immediately wrote to the seller saying I was seriously interested, and we quickly came to an agreement. It was probably a collector’s piece, as the gentleman was selling several old computers of different brands.
The computer arrived during the week, neatly wrapped in bubble wrap and packed inside another complete box that protected the original packaging from any unwanted damage. This is exactly how it should always be done. It was obvious that the seller was a collector himself.
The ATARI is unbelievably well preserved. I was especially pleased by the homemade joystick and the original purchase receipt together with the warranty card. Simply a collector’s edition and the pride of my collection.
